Origin Story

I am not a super hero and I do not star in a comic book. Instead I’m a working mom with a passion for organization through stylish and functional bags. This origin story begins early 2019 when my mother gave me her well used embroidery and sewing machine. Unfortunately, at that time, I did not even know how to sew. My mother-in-law is an avid quilter and taught me how to sew a small cotton zippered bag. Once I accomplished this small feat and realized all the possibilities, I was hooked. By the end of 2019, I used my small home sewing machine to create a leather doppkit for every member of my immediate family, and lined each one with a vinyl coated fabric for ease of cleaning as well as elegance.

My grandmother passed away in fall of 2019 leaving me a small inheritance, which I used to buy a true leather sewing machine in February of 2020. We all know how the rest of 2020 turned out, so while in home quarantine and attempting to home school my son (mostly in vane), I continued to learn, experiment, craft and create. Leather working shares a lot in common with wood working, much to my husband’s dismay as I continually “borrowed” his tools.

The goal is always to create something that truly combines form and function. Something that is both beautiful and practical, durable with ease of care, functional while stylish.

From the moment I’ve made the first cut to the placement of the final stitch, snap, or hook, my heart and soul is in each creation. I believe that true luxury lies in the subtle details – the carefully selected materials, the precision of the finished edges, and the end product that is both functional and durable. Each leather, fabric, snap, zipper and buckle are hand selected from U.S. based companies to ensure quality and support American businesses.
